Rainbow Votes 2025

After surveying more than 5,000 people across Australia, Equality Australia has released a report on the voting intentions of queer Aussies, the issues they want to see addressed and the progress that has been made in addressing LGBTQIA+ issues since the last election.

While LGBTQIA+ voters share the same concerns as many other Australians, almost 64% of those surveyed ranked LGBTQIA+ issues as being one of their primary concerns in the upcoming federal election. This was followed by environment/climate issues (57%) and cost of living (55%).

Ahead of the federal election, Equality Australia will be hosting a free Rainbow Votes Election Forum in Sydney and online on Tuesday 15 April 2025. Representatives from the ALP, Coalition, the Greens and independents will be involved.
