Video: In Australia, it’s still legal to pay people with disabilities less than the minimum wage

It's 2025 and in Australia people with disability can still legally be paid below the minimum wage and as little as just $3 an hour.

People with Down Syndrome, advocates and independent senator David Pocock are calling for Labor and the Coalition to phase out subminimum wages paid to people with an intellectual disability.

The Disability Royal Commission recommended people with disability should receive at least the minimum wage, and the government should act to achieve this by 2034.
